Colonial Country Club is the host of the Charles Schwab Challenge, the longest running tournament held at the same course on the PGA Tour. Colonial was founded in 1936 by Marvin Leonard and has held the men’s and women’s US Open as well as the 1975 Tournament Player’s Championship. Tree-lined fairways, raised greens, deep bunkers and lots of doglegs make this one of the most challenging courses in the area.
Shady Oaks Country Club is bound with history everywhere you look. The home course of legendary golfer Ben Hogan presents awe and mystique when you are walking the property. Featuring 18 holes of championship golf as well as the “Fort Worth Famous” 9-hole short course, Shady is the cream of the crop in Fort Worth. While not as difficult as its nearby cousin Colonial, Shady Oaks is always kept in pristine conditions. After a $15 million renovation in 2020, the course looks better than ever. If golf is what is most important to you, Shady is the place to be.
Vaquero Golf Club was established in 2001 and rests on 525 acres in Westlake, Texas. Designed by Tom Fazio, it is the most modern of the best golf courses in Tarrant County. Always in excellent condition, the bent grass greens at Vaquero will test the best of putters. A playable course for all handicaps, every golfer can enjoy the beauty Vaquero offers while still challenging the best of golfers. Luxury service is provided every minute you are on the property with comfort stations across the golf course as well as attendants at the practice facilities, parking lot, clubhouse, and a fore-caddy with every group.
